Furthur drummer Joe Russo will soon add professional barista to his list of projects. Russo and his fiancé Pooja Raj will open Vineapple Cafe—their very own coffee shop—tomorrow, June 8. Vineapple is located in the Brooklyn Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn and will feature Stumptown coffee, selections from Brooklyn’s Pickle Petunia Bakery, local wines and beers, a stocked library of books and free wifi. Raj will serve as the coffee shop’s general manager and Russo plans to help out behind the counter when he’s not on tour. Shortly after the venue opens, Russo will head to Bonnaroo for a two performances with Band of Changes.
