Guitarist Jeff Mattson and keyboardist Rob Barraco spent years playing together in the Zen Tricksters and are currently part of Dark Star Orchestra (they both also were part of an early Phil Lesh & Friends lineup). On January 12, Mattson and Barraco will take the stage in a different configuration at Hauppauge, NY’s Madison Steak House. The longtime friends will play a rare acoustic duo show while Dark Star is off the road. The musicians promise jamming outside the box with no script or planned set list. Mattson and Barraco will play two 90-minute sets beginning at 8:30 PM. As previous reported, Barraco will also sit in with Zen Tricksters at Brooklyn, NY’s Brooklyn Bowl as part of the annual Dave Nolan benefit show.
