Radiohead have announced a new tour. From Nov. 4 to Dec. 12, the legendary avant-rock ensemble of Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Ed O’Brien, Colin Greenwood and Philip Selway will return to the stage with 20 performances plotted across Europe. The imminent run will arrive at last as the band’s first public concerts since 2018, nine years after the release of their ninth studio album, 2016’s A Moon Shaped Pool.
Radiohead’s announcement was supported by a comment from Selway. “Last year, we got together to rehearse, just for the hell of it,” the drummer detailed. “After a seven year pause, it felt really good to play the songs again and reconnect with a musical identity that has become lodged deep inside all five of us. It also made us want to play some shows together, so we hope you can make it to one of the upcoming dates. For now, it will just be these ones but who knows where this will all lead.”
Radiohead’s 2025 tour dates comprise five stops at Madrid’s Movistar Arena, Bologna, Italy’s Unipol Arena, London’s O2 Arena, Copenhagen’s Royal Arena and Berlin’s Uber Arena. Each venue will see four performances, broken into pairs with single nights off in between. While the seven years since the band’s last onstage appearance have been the longest break in their three-decade history, and enough to inspire some doubts around their reunion, Radiohead’s rabid fan base has been piecing together hints at a return since last year. Early indicators included the group’s formation of a limited liability partnership, RHEUK25 LLP, in March, and a promising interview with Colin Greenwood last September.
“We did some rehearsals about two months ago in London, just to play the old songs,” Greenwood coyly mentioned in a Q&A for the Hay Festival Querétaro. “It was really fun–had a really good time.” While the news of the quintet’s behind-the-scenes reunion comes as a shot in the arm for fans long in waiting, the artist was careful to clarify that there were no set plans to re-launch the project anytime soon. “We’re still talking all the time,” he said, “we just need to make a plan and get some time together sorted out in advance.”
In Radiohead’s absence, the quintet’s members have gone on to pursue several acclaimed side projects. Vocalist and primary songwriter Yorke has stayed busy with regular solo releases, including 2019’s Anima, a pair of singles with Burial and Four Tet, his 2025 full-length collaboration with Mark Pritchard, Tall Tales, and film scores for 2018’s Suspiria and 2024’s Confidenza. Guitarist Jonny Greenwood has also continued to roll out celebrated scores, including 2021’s Spencer and The Power of the Dog and a continued partnership with director Paul Thomas Anderson that’s yielded compositions for 2018’s Phantom Thread, 2021’s Licorice Pizza and 2025’s upcoming One Battle After Another. Yorke and Greenwood, alongside Sons of Kemet drummer Tom Skinner, have also released three records as The Smile, 2022’s A Light for Attracting Attention and 2024’s Wall of Eyes and Cutouts. Guitarist Ed O’Brien released Earth, his debut as EOB, in 2020, and Selway returned with Strange Dance in 2023.
