Dave Matthews Band returned to New York’s famed Madison Square Garden last night. Near the end of the ensemble’s show, the musicians welcomed The Late Show with Stephen Colbert bandleader Louis Cato to play guitar on an extended version of “Lie in Our Graves.” Cato then remained onstage as The Late Show horn players Jon Lampley and Louis Fouché emerged for “Stay (Wasting Time.” Fouché also stuck around for a set-closing “Ants Marching.” In addition to his work on The Late Show, Cato is known for his collaborations with Marcus Miller and members of Snarky Puppy.
DMB will close their fall tour at Madison Square Garden this evening. Matthews has also confirmed that he will perform at a Get Out The Vote show at Atlanta’s Roxy on Monday, Nov. 28.
