New York City restaurant and live music venue, City Winery, has announced a new Rapid Covid Testing program, set to roll out on Tuesday, Nov. 24.
As we settle into the colder months of the year, and outdoor dining becomes less of an option, restaurants are looking to safely transition into offering indoor dining options. Effective next week, City Winery will begin a pilot program which will require a negative rapid Covid test from all guests, administered at the door, prior to entering and dining in the restaurant. As it is a pilot program, the testing will occur on just Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
According to a press release, “The cost of the test will be $50 per diner, and prepaid reservations will be taken via Resy. Upon arrival, guests will participate in our mandatory wellness check, then receive a shallow nasal swab by a certified practitioner, a glass of City Winery Bubbles, and be asked to wait the 10-15 minutes for their results. If the rapid result is negative, the guest will be welcome to enter, mask in place, and continue to practice all proper socially distanced protocols. If positive, City Winery will offer a PCR test sent to a partnered CLIA lab and 24 hours to validate the results, but the individual will not be permitted to enter the premises.”
All City Winery employees will also be required to test negative before entering the restaurant for their shift, “ensuring that 100% of individuals on the premises have tested negative that day” according to the press release.

November 21, 2020 at 8:22 amsure am glad this is jamband related, not. BTW if anyone wants to pay me a $50 fee per diner, I will cook you anything you like…guarantee it’s as good as this place claims to be. Seriously though, I like the idea, it should help keep people who would submit to this away from me/us. Golf courses work that way too, the more successful they are, the less Golfers we have to interact with

November 20, 2020 at 12:33 amDid the UNPAID college football slaves have to pay for their tests, ev time they stepped on the field and got a few thousand repressed white guys off just so THEY cud murd ev 1 else? Maybe we shud force college football to pay for ART venue testing, since those jackaninnies caused all these issues? AND the few thousand repressed male white fans, who are too weak to cum out the closet?

November 19, 2020 at 5:31 pmThis all sucks terribly, and we wish the testing could be free, or paid by someone, but at least this way we might stay open and have cash flow to give our staff until this BS pandemic is over and we can get back to putting on shows. -michael Dorf

November 20, 2020 at 9:01 amHow many black employees and ownership members are involved at City Whinery?
Shouldn’t ownership mirror the racial % of Amerikka?
Does City Whinery bank with black owned banks or do they stick with White/Jewish owned banks? Same with their advertising, do they use black owned only agencies, and why not?
How many blacks can afford this fee? Great way to discriminate against 13% of the US population.
Sounds like City Whinery needs to join the 21st century and the Biden era, instead of being pulled in kicking and screaming.
Has the whole world lost its head?
November 20, 2020 at 10:41 amWell said. An outrageous fee just to sit down is so racist and discriminatory and is really there just to keep the blacks out. I call for BLM protests in front of the venue.
