The line-up for this years Gathering of the Vibes has just been announced. The festival will take place July 4 7 at Indian Lookout Country Club in Mariaville, NY. Confirmed acts include Phil & Friends, Govt Mule, Soulive, Les Claypool, Steve Kimock Band, Third World, Deep Banana Blackout, Strangefolk, Warren Haynes (solo acoustic), Merl Saunders & Friends, Lake Trout, Zen Tricksters, Max Creek, Peter Prince (solo), Reid Genauer (solo), Bomb Squad, Grapes of Vaudevillian Fantasy, Lightning Wells, Fuzz & Stephen Kellogg, Aaron Katz Band, Deni Bonet, Jess Klein, John Mooney, The Rafter Bats and Mo Fro.
We made a conscious decision to reduce the size of the Gathering in 2002, says Terrapin Presents owner Ken Hays. Our goal is to increase the intimacy of the festival and get back to what it once had, which was a gathering made up exclusively of friends. We anticipate tickets selling out well in advance and they will not be available at the show. Weve added a fourth day of music culminating with a performance by Third World. Music will end at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday and were asking folks to pack up and leave by sundown. For fans that joined us at The Summit last summer and waited for hours to get in, we apologize. We have resolved the problem and invite people to join us this Fourth of July weekend.
Complete details will be posted to www.gatheringofthevibes.com on Monday night.
