Several special guests performed with Addison Groove Project over its two-night stand Friday and Saturday at The Paradise in Boston. On Friday, trumpeter Garret Savluk and baritone saxophonist Henley Douglas from the Boston Horns sat in on Use Me. DJ Mister Rourke took the stage for Icarus in the first set and also remained for the entire second set. At the beginning of the second set, members of Illin P added vocals to Fingers Up. Percy Hill keyboardist Nate Wilson then sat in on People Say. To close the second set, kazoos were handed out to the crowd for an audience participation outro to Beantown (both shows were recorded for a forthcoming live album). Vocalist TQ (formerly of Nozmo King) joined the band for the encore, a version of Rick James Mary Jane.
On Saturday, guitarist Dave Holmes (Actual Proof) emerged for Groove in Green. Vocalist Mark Holmes (Actual Proof) then took the stage for I wish. MC Kabir joined in for Skewer and rapped over portions of Tribe Called Quests Whatand Grover Washington Jr.s Mister Magic.
Keyboardist Rob Marscher also showed off his new mullet – freshly cut – during Saturdays show.
