Bela Fleck & the Flecktones have announced plans for a summer tour, which kicks off at the Bonnaroo Music Festival on June 13. The band will perform a weeks worth of shows in June, making stops in Missouri and Colorado, where it will take the stage at the Telluride Music Festival on June 20. The group also has August dates scheduled in Ohio, Idaho, Oregon and Washington. Several more shows will be added in the coming weeks. This spring, the Flecktons will tour extensively on the East Coast, before heading south and eventually routing to New Orleans for a gig at the Orpheum Theater on May 3, during Jazz Fest.
In other news, the band is currently mastering its forthcoming studio disc, which is due in June. There is a possibility that it will become a double album, although its too early to tell. A specific release date has not yet been confirmed.
