NEW ORLEANS – Trumpeter Willie Waldman joined Global Funk Council earlier this morning at Mamas Blues. Halfway through the first set, which kicked off shortly after 2 a.m., Waldman stepped in for an extended improvisational excursion in Tiny People. As of press time (4:48 a.m.), people were still arriving to the venue as the band continued to perform.
Global Funk Council plays later tonight technically tomorrow morning at 2 a.m.- at Jimmys Music Club in New Orleans.
Meanwhile, the Willie Waldman Project will take the stage at Mamas Blues for a late show on Friday. The group features all the members of moe., Rob Wasserman, Clint Wagner and others.
