NEW ORLEANS – Galactics Stanton Moore and Robert Mercurio collaborated with Jon Cleary (the Absolute Monster Gentlemen, Walter Wolfman Washington) and Eric Lindell in the intimate confines of the Dragons Den last night. The show consisted of mostly barrelhouse blues, with Cleary and Lindell taking turns on vocals. One standout was a cover of Johnny Winters Gangster of Love, which featured an extended drum solo from Moore, with Clearly joining in on percussion.
Moore and Mercurio take the stage with Galactic Friday at the State Palace Theatre. Jack Johnson will also perform. For details, visit www.galacticfunk.com.
