Acoustic Disc has announced the release of a David Grisman compilation CD titled Life of Sorrow. The album is due out July 8 and features a collection of songs dealing with true-life heartbreak and tragedy. Several first-time collaborations are included, with musicians such as Ralph Stanley & The Clinch Mt. Boys, The Del McCoury Band, The Nashville Bluegrass Band, John Hartford, Mac Wiseman, Herb Pedersen and Bryan Bowers, among others. The packaging also includes a 20-page booklet containing notes, song lyrics and photos.
Grisman and his band hit the road at the end of this month, kicking off May 28 at the Boulder Theater in Colorado. For the complete schedule, visit www.davidgrisman.com.
