String Cheese Incident is headlining a benefit this Friday with strong implications for Humboldt county growers but it’s not exactly what you might expect. The Committee for Humboldt Green Genes is attempting to place a ballot initiative before voters that will call for an agricultural ban on the growing of all ‘genetically modified’ crops, plants and animals. Mendocino county passed such a ban earlier in the year and the Committee hopes to do the same. The show will take place at Benbow Lake State Park in Garberville, CA.
