Gregg Allman has expanded the itinerary for his month long solo tour. Allmans friends will consist of guitarist Robben Ford, singer/percussionist Floyd Miles, bassist Wilie Weeks, keyboardist Neil Larsen, drummer Steve Potts, and a horn section consisting of Jay Collins, Chris Karlic and Jim Sealy. For his part, Allman will play both acoustic guitar and his trademark organ.
Kicking off on January 19 in Norfolk, VA, Allman will play a series of club dates, making stops in Norfolk, VA, Jim Thorpe, PA, Uncasville, CT, Sayreville, NJ, New York, NY, Niagara Falls, NY, Glenside, PA , Washington, DC, Binghamton, NY, Asheville, NC, N. Myrtle Beach, SC, Charleston, SC, New Orleans, LA, Atlanta, GA, Birmingham, AL, W. Palm Beach, FL, Ft. Myers, FL, Melbourne, FL, Baltimore, MD, Cleveland, OH, Toledo, OH, and Chicago, IL
Allman has not issued a solo album since 1997s Searching for Simplicity. On this outing, the longtime Allman Brothers frontman is expected to fill his setlist with both Brothers standards and his solo material which traditionally explores his more soulful leanings.
