Word is now drifting in from the Jam Cruise. First off on the musical side, an early highlight was an Art of the Improv’ session, a freeform jam featuring Oteil Burbridge, Jeff Coffin, Karl Denson, Jimmy Herring, and Jeff Sipe. Meanwhile, numerous artists sat in during Galactic’s set including Denson, Erica Krasno, Skerik and Theresa Anderson (who sang lead on a cover of ‘Whole Lotta Love’). The latest performance, which extended to 5AM featured Les Claypools Frog Brigade garbed in sailor suits. Finally, a quick follow-up on yesterday’s report: a few individuals were indeed interviewed by customs officials thanks to the noses of their canine units. These events will be covered in much additional detail by Mike Greenhaus at Relix.com later today and over the course of the weekend.
