After shelving his most famous composition for over a decade Arlo Guthrie will bring the ‘Alice’s Restaurant Massacre’ back into his repertoire tonight at New York’s Battery Park. The opening night of Guthrie’s Alice’s Restaurant 40th Anniversary Massacre Tour, tonight’s performance will begin a year-long look back at the event’s which inspired Guthrie’s iconic Thanksgiving song. Never one to follow the rules, Guthrie actually broke out the often requested number last Thursday in Niederwald, TX at a bar fittingly called Alice’s Restaurant. Guthrie’s Alice’s Restaurant 40th Anniversary Tour will also make stops this weekend in Washburn, WI and Minneapolis, MN.
