Michael Franti and Spearhead will host their annual 911 Power to the Peaceful Festival at San Franciscos Golden Gate Park on September 10. Now in its seventh year the San Francisco Mayor’s Office will also declare September 10 Power to the Peaceful Day during the days festivities. This year’s theme, Bring ‘Em Home, seeks to remind the public that the best way to support American troops abroad is to bring them home today. In addition to Spearhead, Anti-Flag, Saul Williams, Jean Grae, Zap Mamas Marie Daulne and the Glide Choir provide the days music while Angela Davis, Woody Harrelson, Robert Greenwald and Paul Rieckhoff are among the personalities scheduled to speak.
