Downtown New York denizens Medeski, Martin and Wood will celebrate New Year’s Eve on the other side of the world this December (and we’re not talking about the upper west side). The trio will perform three
shows in Japan leading up to 2006, beginning December 28 at Hokkaido’s Penny Lane 24 and December 29 at Osaka’s Bayside Jenny. After a night off, the trio will celebrate the New Year at Tokyo’s Differ Ariake
while its stateside neighbors are still preparing for the ball to drop. MMW plays tonight at New Haven, CT’s Toad’s Place.
