New Monsoon recently returned to California after completing its Spring Forward Tour during which it performed three shows in Colorado with Bill Nershi and his Honkytonk Homeslice project. The group’s Colorado run culminated with a performance at the Fox, with Scott Law and Honkytonk Homeslice joining New Monsoon for its entire second set, as well as its encore of the Rolling Stones ‘Sympathy for the Devil.’ A few days earlier, Bill Nershi and Scott Law also appeared with New Monsoon at Denver’s Cervantes during a first time cover of Marvin Gaye’s ‘Inner City Blues.’ After returning to the west coast, New Monsoon then invited all the members of Aphrodesia to join in at Eugene, OR’s WOW Hall, resulting in 17 musicians on stage. Tonight, New Monsoon will kick off its three-night run at San Francisco’s 12 Galaxies with Steve Kimock joining as an auxiliary member.
