Last night, Phil Lesh and Friends performed at Atlanta’s Hi Five Buys Amphitheatre. As a hometown treat, Dickey Betts joined Lesh and his Friends onstage for a special third set consisting primarily of classic Allman Brothers Band songs. After offering the live standard ‘Turn on Your Lovelight,’ Lesh and Betts opened up the ABB-songbook for ‘Blue Sky’ ‘In Memory of Elizabeth Reed’ and ‘Ramblin’ Man.’ The longtime friends then closed out their set with a full version of ‘Franklin’s Tower’ and an encore of ‘Goin’ Down the Road Feeling Bad.’ Adding to the evening’s family vibe, Dickey Betts’ son, Duane, also played guitar on ‘In Memory of Elizabeth Reed. ‘ Lesh will perform in Asheville, NC on June 27.
