Bob Weir and RatDog concluded their three night stand at New Yok’s Beacon Theatre on Saturday night. Over the course of the run, the band performed two longtime Grateful Dead staples for the first time, Mighty Quinn and Stagger Lee, while inviting guests to the stage on every evening. Thursday’s show included an appearance by DJ Logic, who had toured with the group in 2002, for an improvised segment that also featured Dred Scott on keys, Chuck MacKinnon on trumpet and Tom Pope on drums (Pope later returned during such sequences on both Friday and Saturday nights). Meanwhile, former Grateful Dead vocalist Donna Jean Godchaux-MacKay lent her voice to few songs on Saturday, including Last Time, Quinn, One More Saturday Night, Brokedown Palace, and Gloria, a song which the group had not performed since 2003. Tomorrow night RatDog is in Concord, NH at the Capitol Center for the Arts.
