Yo La Tengo will host its annual request-a-thon tonight on New Jerseys WFMU. Since 1996, the trio has made an annual visit to WFMU for the stations fundraising marathon, playing a series of crazy covers in exchange for on-air pledges. Over the years the request-a-thon has yielded some mighty eclectic songs, a number of which are documented on the trios recent release Yo La Tengo Is Murdering the Classics. The group will launch a spring tour April 5 at New Orleans Tipitinas.
