Though still gearing up a huge push behind Wilcos forthcoming album Sky Blue Sky, guitarist Nels Cline will continue to work on his solo career. The avant-garde guitarist has recently finished the next album by the Nels Cline Singers, which features Cline, Devin Hoff (contrabass) and Scott Amendola (drums, percussion, ‘live’ electronics). The album, Draw Breath will be released this summer and will feature an appearance by Wilco drummer Glenn Kotche. The Nels Cline Singers will play three California shows next week, including gigs at Oaklands Yoshis (4/25), Santa Cruzs The Attic (4/26) and Winters The Palms (4/27). Wilco will perform at Sydneys Enmore Theatre tomorrow. For more on Cline and Kotches avant-garde background, please read the April/May issue of Relix.
