Stanton Moore has a busy weekend ahead of him. At 4 PM this afternoon, the drummer will play a free show with his band Galactic at Tulane University. Then, at 2 AM (technically Saturday morning), the drummer will roundup his Trio for a performance at New Orleans Chickie Wah Wah. In addition to keyboardist Robert Walter and guitarist Will Bernard, MOFROs J.J. Grey will join Moore at the early-morning gig. Moore and Bernard will also perform together Sunday. At 9 PM, the longtime friends will back Dr. Lonnie Smith at Blue Nile and, at midnight, the Stanton Moore Trio will play d.b.a. As for Galactic, the group will headline Tipitinas Saturday night.
