This coming Saturday, more than eighteen years since they first performed together, John Medeski and Billy Martin will appear live as duo for the first time. Medeski and Martin, who recorded the disc Mago as a tandem, will take the stage together in Japan, following this evenings MMW performance at Tokyos Shibuya O-East. The two also will offer a late night Bonnaroo set on Friday June 15.
On June 2, Martin will pair with another celebrated musician, as he joins Cyro Baptista for a day of workshops followed by a live performance. Staring at 10:30AM at Colorados Boulder Theater, Martin will offer a creative music workshop using various ‘exotic’ percussion instruments on-hand while Baptista will deliver a ‘Rhythm Awareness Workshop.’ The two will then take the stage for a performance at 8:30 in the evening as Billy Martin & Cyro Baptista’s Black Lamp. Workshops Tickets also include entry to the live show, although performance tickets also are being sold separately.
