Earlier today Widespread Panic percussionist Sunny Ortizs father passed away. As a result, the percussionist will take a few days off from the groups current tour to be with his family. Ortiz is expected to return to the road July 26 in Portsmouth, VA. In a public message the group said, he would like to thank you all for your kind thoughts of support and for respecting his and his family’s privacy at this difficult time. Widespread Panic will perform at Bostons Fleet Pavilion tonight.
