Though Bill Nershi has parted ways with String Cheese Incident, he has no plans on slowing down his road warrior lifestyle. As previously reported, Nershis new group Honkytonk Homeslice has been invited to act as the official band of this year’s Cannabis Cup and will play the events opening ceremonies in Amsterdam on November 18 and an after hours party on at The Melkweg November on November 19. The group will then perform at the award ceremony itself, which will be held at The PowerZone on November 20. For these gigs the usually acoustic trio will be augmented by Nershis former SCI bandmate Jason Hann on drums and Tyler Grant on bass. The group will then offer a pair of intimate shows at Londons The Green Note on November 30 and December 1, with a few other European dates likely to be announced in the coming weeks.
