With the countdown now underway towards Sundays final show at the Sweetwater Saloons current location, Thursday night offered a special evening of music. With such supporters in the audience as Mark Karan, John Barlow and Mountain Girl, Donna Jean & The Tricksters took the stage for a headlining performance. Following the group’s first set, which offered original compositions as well as a few Grateful Dead covers, a familiar face emerged for much of set two. Bob Weir stepped up in the midst of a jam that emerged from I Want to Tell You, and remained on stage for Jack Straw, Bird Song, Sugaree, Cassidy, and Eyes of the World. Donna Jean & The Tricksters are off tonight and will wrap up the California leg of their west coast tour on Saturday at The Joint in Los Angeles.
