New Orleans bassist George Porter. Jr. has lined up a few intriguing gigs for the coming weekend. This evening Porter will play his regular Thursday night trio spot at New Orleans Maple Leaf Bar, with his funky Meters cohort Russell Batiste serving as the nights special guest. Friday the rhythm section will linkup with Brian Stoltz for a PBS gig at Tampa, FLs Skipper’s Smokehouse with Bonerama that is being billed as appearing together and alone. Finally, on Saturday both PBS and Bonerama will perform at Hollywood, FL Hollywood Beach Clambake Festival.
