Sex Mob trumpeter Steven Bernstein has sketched out the details regarding his fourth solo album on John Zorns Tzadik Records, Diaspora Suite. The disc is the latest installment in Bernsteins Diaspora series and features a number of familiar faces, including Wilcos Nels Cline (guitar), Scott Amendola (drums). Jeff Cressman (trombone), Will Bernard (guitar), Peter Apfelbaum (tenor saxophone/flute), Ben Goldberg (clarinets), John Schott (guitar) and Devin Hoff (bass). The music was recorded in a single day at Oakland, CAs Bay and is said to explore the far-flung worlds of Hebrew music. Meanwhile, Bernstein will perform with his Millennial Territory Orchestra at Kingston, NYs Mohunk Mountain House Jazz Fest this Saturday.
