Speaking of friends, Steve Kimock will hit the road this March for a series of shows with a cross-section of former collaborators. Kimock is basing the group around his drummer son John Morgan Kimock and an old friend, Jerry Garcia Band organist Melvin Seals, in an effort to revisit his Bay Area roots. The trio will be rounded out by veteran Bay Area bassist/Bonnie Raitt Band music director Hutch Hutchinson and singer/songwriter Billy Goodman, the latter of whom first brought Kimock to the Bay Area in the mid-1970s to play with Goodman Brothers. Kimock will take the group on a short tour of Northern CA, making stops in Eureka (3/11), San Francisco (3/13-14) and Forestville (3/15-16) along the way. Kimock will also perform with the Mickey Hart Band at Langerado on March 7.
