This past Monday, Cornmeal was in Athens, Ohio while Mountain Stage was taping at Ohio University’s Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium. The group was slated to perform a Mountain Stage show at The Blue Gator but also attended the taping. In turn, Cornmeal’s fiddle player Allie Kral stepped up for two guest appearances. First she joined moe. on such songs as ‘September,’ ‘Cathedral’ and ‘Conviction Song’ and she later reappeared with Ani DiFranco for her encore. On the previous night at the Cleveland House of Blues, Kral joined moe. for a few additional songs, including ‘Brent Black,’ ‘Shoot First’ and ‘Voodoo Child.’
Next up for Cornmeal is a gig in Chicago at Martyrs’ on March 12.
