New York City’s WBAI is a listener-funded ‘peace and community justice radio station.’ Much of the station’s operating budget is raised during on-air fundraising drives. As part of BAI’s current efforts, the founder of New York City nightclub Wetlands Preserve, Larry Bloch, will chat about the venue with his successor, Peter Shapiro on Saturday night. The two will be joined by longtime staffers Jake Szufnarowski and Dave Nolan (the latter has long been a steady presence at the station). Also on hand will be our site editor, Dean Budnick, as the discussion turns to the recent documentary film directed by Budnick, Wetlands Preserved: The Story of an Activist Nightclub. The segment will run from 9:30 PM to midnight and will include some audio clips from the film as well. WBAI can be heard at 99.5 in the New York City area and also streams live over the web.
