‘Degenerates’ is the name of a song on Moby’s most recent album _Last
Night_ and also an evening of music that will take place at New York’s
Hiro Ballroom on Thursday, September 19. In addition to a DJ
set from Moby (which differs slightly from his standard electronica set),
the evening will feature DJ sets by a number of musicians normally
associated with the rock realm: Bloc Party’s Russell Lissac and Matt Tong,
Brazilian Girls’ Aaron Johnston and Rock DsKo’s Jesse Murphy. For many
years, Murphy played bass in Brazilian Girls, but struck out on his own
before the release of 2008’s New York City. Both Moby and Brazilian
Girls have a deep connection with Nublu, a world music venue located in
New York’s East Village.
