Last night at Revolution Hall in Troy, NY, Page McConnell joined Brian Stoltz, George Porter, Jr., and Russell Batiste, Jr. for the first night of a four show tour. The quartet is gigging in support of MOODOO, a live disc that captures all four musicians together last November in Burlington, VT. The Revolution Hall gig presented some of the material off MOODOO, including versions of Batiste’s ‘All We Wanna Do’ and ‘Comin’ At Ya’ as well as Porter’s ‘I Get High’ (an mp3 of ‘I Get High’ from MOODOO available for download here) All in all, the two sets drew on material written by all four participants, with McConnell offering up ‘Back In The Basement’ from his recent self-titled disc and revisiting his Vida Blue days with Batiste during ‘Electra Glide’ and ‘Most Events Aren’t Planned.’ The band will travel to Providence tonight for a show at Lupo’s.
