Hot off the heels of a Janes Addictions reunion, drummer Stephen Perkins has put together a new version of his shape-shifting Banyan band. In addition to the drummer, the next incarnation of Banyan will include keyboardist Joel Cummins (Umphreys McGee), guitarist Nels Cline (Wilco), bassist Mike Watt, trumpeter Willie Waldman and live painter Norton Wisdom. The supergroup has confirmed two early November shows: November 5 at Los Angeles The Mint and November 6 at Venice, CAs Air Conditioned Bar. Cummins recently played a few shows with Perkins, Waldman and several other members of Umphreys McGee as the North Indiana Allstars. The keyboardist has also shared the stage with Clines Wilco bandmate Glenn Kotche a handful of times over the years.
