Over the past few years, the Tipitina’s Foundation has provided over 1.8 million dollars worth of new instruments to 50 greater New Orleans area schools as part of its Instruments A Comin’ program. On April 27, the organization will once host a benefit concert and auction to support its efforts. The event will take place in tents outside Tipitina’s Uptown beginning at 5PM. More than 130 items will be auctioned off to support Instruments A Comin’. In addition, numerous area artists will perform, including: Galactic, George Porter, Jr., Ivan Neville, Theresa Andersson, Rebirth Brass Band, Soul Rebels and Big Chief Monk Boudreaux, Donald Harrison & The T.I.P. Interns, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Ave, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Walter ‘Wolfman’ Washington and Johnny Vidacovich and The Chilluns (featuring Annie Clements of ‘Sugarland’, The Radiators’ Dave Malone, Cranston Clements of Twangorama, Johnny Malone, Darcy Malone, Spencer Bohren, and Andre Bohren of Johnny Sketch).
