Morrison, COís Red Rocks Amphitheatre host the first annual Mountainside Mardi Gras music festival on August 8. The day-long event will feature a number of New Orleans natives, including Dr. John & The Lower 911, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Ivan Nevilleís Dumpstaphunk, George Porter Jr. and the Runniní Pardners, Papa Grows Funk, Big Sam’s Funky Nation and Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes. Festival organizers are also encouraging concert-goers to dress up in Mardi Gras inspired garb, ìincorporating the traditional green, purple and gold colors as well as beads, masks and feathers.î The Krewe of Oak from New Orleans will also be onsite, ìroaming the amphitheater as buskers, creating a mini-parade route as they hand out beads and medallions.î
