In September, the Chris Berry Trio will become a sextet. Over four nights, the Panjea founder will make the rounds in the Northeast with a number of celebrated guests. Starting on September 10 at New York City’s Le Poisson Rouge, Steve Kimock, Peter Apfelbaum and Michael Kang all will join Berry’s core group. That band currently consists of Brazilian Girls’ Aaron Johnston and Jesse Murphy. From New York, the six musicians will travel to Northampton, MA for a show at Pearl Street on September 11, followed by gigs at Mexicali Live in Teaneck, NJ on September 12 and Acme, PA’s Boykin Ball on the 13th.
