Aerosmith had announced that it is canceling the remainder of its summer tour due to injuries sustained by frontman Steven Tyler. He fell from a stage last week in Sturgis, South Dakota while dancing during the song Love in an Elevator. This resulted in a broken shoulder and multiple stitches to his head. Ticket refunds will be available at point of purchase.
The summer of 2009 has been one of multiple mishaps for the band. Guitarist Brad Whitford missed shows after reportedly injuring his head on his Ferrari. Then bass player Tom Hamilton also sat out a few gigs while recovering from unspecified non-invasive surgery. The band also canceled some earlier dates after Tyler injured his leg muscle during a performance in Uncasville, CT.
