After and offering an improv-laced show on Dec. 30, STS9 hit the ground running on Dec. 31, starting the show the live debut of “Days Out of Time.”

And while the song saw its first onstage performance, the jamtronica band shared the studio version of “Days Out of Time” in March 2018, as part of their Wave Spell EP.

After the debut, STS9 sunk into a “Call” jam, which bled into “Tap-In.” From there, they offered “Strange Games”> “When The Dust Settles Reprise”> “Menacer”> “Golden Gate” segment, and ended the first half with the third and final “Breathe In” of 2018.

STS9 kicked into overdrive for set two, jamming straight through “Spending Time”> “Countdown”> “Orbital”> “Seed”> “Dance”> “Inspire Strikes Back”> “Presence of Light,” with a significant improv portion between the final two songs.

They encored their final show of the year with “Totem.”

As the band explains on their website. “‘Totem’ is an answer to philosopher Alan Watts’ suggestion that you ‘find something that expresses you’ (Watts’ words can be heard in the tune). A totem is something that represents an idea, a natural object or animal believed to have spiritual significance. Watts’ declaration is STS9’s totem.”
