This weekend, two music festivals in Kentucky and Tennessee—Bourbon & Beyond and Pilgrimage, respectively—were forced to cancel their final day of performances due to heavy rain and storms in the region, causing unsafe conditions.
A statement from Pilgrimage Festival, which also cancelled the latter portion of Saturday’s festivities due to frequent lightning, notes that safety is the festival’s “first priority” and that the city of Franklin, TN, where the festival was held, decided in the end that the festival grounds were unsafe for Sunday’s music due to heavy rain and lightning. Chris Stapleton, Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds and Brandi Carlile are a few of the acts that were slated to play yesterday, along with headliner Jack White and more on Saturday evening. Pilgrimage is finalizing their plans for ticket refunds.
Bourbon & Beyond organizers also posted a similar note to the festival’s website, citing Saturday’s inclement weather in the city of Louisville declaring Champions Park, where the B&B music was held, unsafe for fans. Sunday’s slate of acts was set to include Gov’t Mule, Sting, Robert Plant and more. All ticket refund information can be found here.
