My Morning Jacket continued their August run with a stop at North Adams, MA last night and responded to the events in Charlottesville with a cover debut of Plastic Ono Band’s “Give Peace a Chance.”
Not only did the band open with the song, but they also closed with it following the anthemic “One Big Holiday” as the John Lennon song (performed with Yoko Ono) entered the MMJ canon as a rallying call for peace.
The show marks the final of the band’s August run, who will now break until the start of their New Year’s run in Broomfield, CO beginning December 29.
