Umphrey’s McGee followed up their set at the Peach Festival in Scranton, PA with a decidedly hardcore fan-friendly show at The F Shed in Syracuse, NY, highlighted by a Beatles cover not played since 2015.
The first set was anchored by a “Der Bluten Kat” segment that included a foray into “Anchor Drops” as well as just the third version of Squeeze’s “Tempted” ever before “The Floor” brought the set to a rousing finish.
The six-song second set relied on some deeper cuts, including the opening “Crooked One” as well as a recent Raw Stewage output in “Remind Me” and instrumental “Uncle Wally.” The encore saw them dip into their covers repertoire with the first rendition of the Beatles’ “I Am the Walrus” since April, 16, 2015.
Umphrey’s McGee’s tour resumes August 18 in Memphis, TN.
