The Kinks will celebrate their 50th anniversary with a massive box set to go along with their previously announced box set, The Essential Kinks. The Kinks Anthology 1964-1971, due out November 18, will feature over 100 tracks comprised of the band’s material between the 60s and early 1970s. The extensive tracklist is comprised of demos, alternate takes, outtakes and previously unreleased songs along with interviews and other material.

On the reunion front, Dave Davies told Rolling Stone that he is indeed open to reuniting with the band in 2015. “It would be a shame if Ray and I didn’t do something next year,” he said. “I’m prepared to talk. If Ray’s got some great ideas, let me hear them. I have my own ideas about how it should be presented. But I don’t want it to be a Ray Davies show where he lets his little brother stand in the corner, which he likes to do.”

Ray Davies reportedly told Mojo that he would reunite the band with or without his brother. “He’s invited to the party, but if he doesn’t want to do it, [the reunion] will happen anyway.” That story was quickly retracted, however.
