Yesterday, Prince’s 3RDEYEGIRL Twitter account tweeted “OTNOROT CALLING,” possibly suggesting an unannounced show was set to take place in Toronto. The tweet was deleted shortly after.
According to Billboard, a Ticketmaster page was set up for the show that night at Massey Hall and multiple outlets reported that wristbands were set to go on sale shortly before the show. Around 3:30 PM, a worker at the venue came out and told the crowd that there would be no show and they should go home.
Last night, Donna Grantis of 3RDEYEGIRL took to Twitter to post a statement, apologizing for the confusion. As it turns out, the band’s equipment had been brought into the venue and set up to “rehearse lighting and sound for possible future performances.”
Fellow Torontonians, thank you for your love & support today. I can’t wait to perform in our great city for you & I hope to make you proud!

For all those who waited in line, I apologize for any disappointment caused by the confusion.
