John Mayer and Dave Chappelle brought their “Controlled Danger” show to The Fillmore in San Francisco last night to close out a two-night run.
According to Mayer’s Twitter, the show included a duet with Dead & Company bandmate Bob Weir as the guitarist sat in with Mayer for “Friend of the Devil.” Due to the very strict no cell phone policy for this run, footage is unlikely to surface.
Mayer also reported that he covered Drake’s “Passionfruit” and the majority of the set focused on him and Chappelle jamming on songs from the 80s.
I covered Passionfruit. @BobWeir joined me for a tune. Dave killed for 45 straight. Then we jammed on ‘80s songs. Nothing quite like it. ⚡️
