Umphrey’s McGee continued their return to the Tabernacle in Atlanta last night with the second of three shows at the venue.
Among the highlights, just the second performance of new tune “North Route” ever, which opened the show after making its debut over the band’s New Year’s run in Chicago. “Wappy Sprayberry” also made a rare first set appearance, pairing with the anthemic “Hajimemashite.”
The second set featured a variety of instrumentals woven into the fabric of other tunes, including “Glory,” which appeared within the opening “Plunger.” Later on, “Hurt Bird Bath” gave way to the first “Full Frontal” (formerly “Yoga Pants”) since July of 2016. Newer tune “Piranhas” also reappeared for the first time since October 30, 2016.
The bustout of the show came to close the set as the band delivered the first rendition of Tool’s “Forty-Six & 2” since November 6, 2014, or 205 shows. Watch the band play the song at Gathering of the Vibes in 2014.
Umphrey’s McGee return to Atlanta tonight to close the run.
