The Phish Studies Association has announced Phish Studies 101, a new three-part web lecture series set to premiere this October for fans and scholars across the world. This initiative arrives following the second installment of the Phish Studies Conference in May 2024. The “class-style” lectures will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 16 and 23 from 8:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. EST.

Delivered by leading Phish scholars and enthusiasts, each of the three lectures will feature updated presentations from the PSA conference earlier this year, with topics ranging from mental health, to show ratings, audience experiences and psychadelic-assisted therapies. Each class will also unpack a different “Ghost” jam during a guided listening experience, with the support of music scholars. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions during the Q&A period at the end of each session.

Funds from the Phish Studies 101 sessions will support future endeavors of the Phish Studies Association, which include student scholarships, conferences and event fees. Registration is available now at phishstudies.net, and enthusiasts who are unable to attend but want to show their support can donate to the program’s GoFundMe campaign.
