At long last, Phish will take the stage in Mexico tonight to kick off the band’s seventh Riviera Maya series. This highly-anticipated annual pilgrimage will feature four performances and seven sets from the jam legends over the next four days at the paradisaical Moon Palace Cancún resort, culminating in a sunny daytime show on Feb. 24. Fortunately for fans unable to attend the island escape, all four concerts will be available to stream via LivePhish.com.
This year’s festivities, returning to Cancún, Quintana Roo, Mexico’s Moon Palace Resort for the fourth time, will begin tonight with a “Welcome Set” at 9 p.m. ET. Pay-per-view webcasts are available to order here, both as single-day passes and at a discounted bundle rate.
This series follows Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds’ annual Dave & Tim Mexico series, also held last weekend at Moon Palace Resort. The final show from this annual engagement featured a surprise guest appearance from Trey Anastasio, who joined the duo for treatments of “So Damn Lucky” and “Dodo” off Matthews’ 2003 album Some Devil, to which the Phish frontman contributed, as well as a grand finale with The Band’s “Up on Cripple Creek.” Watch a fan-recorded video of the sit-in below.
