God Street Wine has dropped two tracks: “Beautiful Lies,” a 1998 original written by keyboardist Jon Liebowitz and recorded with latter-day members Peter Levin–who has gone on to play with Gregg Allman, Amanda Shires and Trouble No More–-and Aubrey Dayle. Also shared today is a second song, “When She Go,” both of which originated off the set which goes by the same title as the aforementioned tune.

Notably, “Beautiful Lies” is derived from God Street Wine’s Hot! Sweet! And Juicy! project, which was never released due to label issues. The band shared the tune on their official social channels on Wednesday, Jan. 31. The song has been played in live formats prior to its reintroduction to fans this week.

GSW, who have reunited numerous times since 2009 after formally disbanding in 1999, appears to be teasing the long-awaited release of some form of the album on socials. Previously last fall, the band took part in their first concert since 2019, performing at the esteemed Levon Helm’s Studio in Woodstock, N.Y. Read more.
